Sunday Sneaker Brunch Celebrating Women of Color in Sport
BSB, alongside its incredible brand partners, hosted the inaugural Sunday Sneaker Brunch—an exclusive celebration of Women of Color in Sport. Held during International Women’s Month, this one-of-a-kind event blended sneaker culture with networking, creating a space dedicated to women in the Canadian sports business industry.
Guests enjoyed interactive games, exciting prizes, and an unforgettable experience. Each attendee received a pair of PUMA sneakers from Foot Locker Canada, along with DoorDash gift cards, making the event both memorable and impactful.
BSB at the Black Hockey Summit
BSB had the honor of participating in the Black Hockey Summit, where we had the opportunity to moderate a powerful panel discussion featuring Black female hockey giants.
As part of the event, young female participants attended a special screening of Ice Queens, a short documentary by filmmaker Kwame Mason. Following the screening, an inspiring conversation took place with hockey legends Angela James, Saroya Tinker, Bernice Carnegie, and Dayton O'Donoghue. The discussion highlighted the progress made for Black women in hockey and the excitement for the future of the sport.
BSB host the Summer Series
BSB hosts the Summer Series, a monthly networking event designed for BIPOC sports business professionals to connect, collaborate, and build community.
Held once a month from May to August, the Summer Series takes advantage of the great weather and provides a consistent space for industry professionals to engage in meaningful conversations. Each gathering takes place at the same location on the same day each month, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment to foster new connections and opportunities in the sports business industry.
“Being Black in Sport Business” Research
BSB in collaboration with Sport Research professionals in Canada, has prepared the first of its kind research, which captures the experiences and data of black sport professionals in Canada.
Breaking down the demographics, providing insights and presenting valuable findings that can assist in increasing the representation and advancements of black professionals in the sport business industry.
BSB at the espnW Summit Canada
BSB Founder, Marsha-Gaye Knight represented BSB at the first every espnW Summit Canada.
She led a presentation for the “Champions for Change” segment where she provided the audience with 4 Questions that they can ask to be intentional about improving the advancement of women of color in the sport industry.
